Tips to save money through Coupons
Yes this is true. You are reading it right. There are ways to save money through coupons. When people go to the grocery, the merchandise is paid for either in cash or through a credit card. Many of these customers just go through this weekly routine since the prices of these goods may just be slightly higher or lower from the other establishments operating in the same area. This repeat purchase is beneficial to the traders and grocery stores and they often try to retain this relationship.
There was a way to save a few dollars for the same amount of goods purchased every week. This is the price that the stores pay to retain cutomers. Else, the person change the habit and shop somewhere else. This is the reason that some have begun offering coupons to attract more traffic in the store.
Although coupons have been around since the 1940’s, not many have been able to utilize its potential to the fullest. Coupons were first used to ration the amount of gasoline an individual could purchase when much of this was used in the war effort. The government used this later on as a way to give food to the unemployed and the homeless. In this case, it was used to identify and help the needy and poor people.
On the other hand, supermarkets issue coupons to give discounts and other freebies on selected items. The style entices the customer to buy one or more of a certain item which is cheaper by a dollar when purchased in singles. It is another way of enticing te customer to buy more. Some establishments that practice this approach are Wal-Mart, Ralph’s and Costco. These coupons can give be cut from magazines or the newspaper. Those who miss it wont have a problem because the customer can find a copy of what is on promo at the entrance of the store. Carrying this coupon ofcourse helps because shops usually offer discounts on these cut-outs as well.
Coupons have gained prominence lately as many others are have also followed this marketing gimmick. Some of these are Staples, Home Depot and Best Buy. These companies have raised the bar a little higher by also offering these online so that they can be printed and redeemed at the nearest store. if you are the watchful types, you will certainly benefit from knowing whats on offer and buying it if youreally reuire it. remember that this also induces a habit of impulse buying which may be harmful to the overall saving process.
Shops use the coupons for different purposes. Some want to get rid of slow moving items while others are introducing a new brand or product into the market. This just goes to show that there are many competitors and these companies have to be on top in order to survive the onslaught. Competition has forced shops to offer different forms of rebate. the main intention is to retain the customers and make them buy more. Given the human nature of being easily attracted to discounts, most of these shops usually benefit from this exercise. An intelligent person should reverse this trend and use coupons as a way to save some m oney. You could split monthly requirements and buy in bulk tse commodities that have a coupon or scheme offering discounted prices. thats a pure gain as you are going to need that commodity on a regular basis.
Ofcourse, dont be too greedy and expect a time that people can give up cash and credit and merely rely on coupons. This wont happen as businesses will go down the drains. But another way of thinking is that there will definitely be such offers on a continuous basis that every watchful individual can take benefit of.
The best people can do then is just use the coupons to its fullest and enjoy those hard earned dollars in getting other items off the shelf. This is a big benefit if you account for the total saving you make over a period of a year. This happens unknowingly simply because you inculcated a habit of gaining from coupons. A watchful individual will always benefit this way. So keep your eyes open for that coupon sale!
